A town full of hippies, hops and the freshest produce, it is definitely one not to be missed. Although a little quiet this time of year, we were sure it had the right vibe to go off during the summer! The autumn colours made for spectacular views everywhere we went. With numerous hikes to refugios (that were still open this time of year) El Bolsón had plenty to offer. Unfortunately as we were only staying one night we didn’t get to explore beyond Bosque Tallado, but you can check out Trek El Bolsón for more info.

Carrying a baby during pregnancy is hard work. As your baby grows, so does your belly. Your body has to adjust to the shift in weight. When Alec complains that he has had to carry Ollie for so many hours on our hikes, I remind him of the fact that I carried Ollie for 9 months!

Burning my lungs, I could taste the sulphur. Trying to use my glove as a breathing mask I attempted to gasp some ‘clean’ air. To my surprise, at 2800m I was not affected by the altitude at all. My legs were burning, but dodging the toxic fumes in between happy snaps was definitely my priority as we walked around the perimeter of the smouldering crater.

Travelling with an 8 month old bub is character building (and relationship building) to say the least! Unfortunately one of our friend’s comment “oh that’s great, Ollie will be able to sleep anywhere by the time you get back” was slightly misguided. Instead we’ve found that if you have an average sleeper before travelling, expect them to potentially turn into a terrible sleeper when on the road!!
