Get Off the Gringo Trail, Experience the Real Arequipa: A. I. Travel’s Reality Tour

Note: The Intrepid Monkeys were hosted on the Reality Tour by Miguel Fernandez from A.I. Travel Tours.

Intrepid Monkeys on a top tour, the Reality Tour with Arequipa tour operator A.I. Travel Tours //

Most tourists who visit Arequipa usually check out the Monastery of Santa Catalina, the spectacular volcanoes surrounding the city including Misti and Chachani, then make their way to the Colca Canyon (the second deepest canyon in the world) to see the infamous circling condors. Intrigued by the opportunity to see the other side of Arequipa, I wasn’t going to say no to the Reality Tour offered by A.I. Travel Tours.

Travelling South America with a Baby – Featured Guest Post on @yTravelblog

June 15, 2013 at 8:55 pm

Last week we were featured on the fantastic y Travel Blog. Excited about our first guest post, we are very grateful that Caz and Craig featured us on their blog.

In our guest post we talked about travelling through South America with a baby, and how:

  • Preparation and routine have been our saviour
  • We often take time out and rely on support networks
  • We totally recommend travelling with a baby

Check out the full guest post here.

The hardest thing we found about writing this guest post was choosing just 5 photos to showcase our trip! So… we decided to post some more pics here that weren’t featured over at y Travel Blog 🙂

Day Trip to Cerro Llao Llao, Bariloche //

No one else on the track, the crisp morning dew kissing the long grass as we headed towards Cerro Llao Llao. One of the first walks we did in Bariloche as a family, and definitely an impressive one!

Cerro Llao Llao is 300m high and forms part of a great little walk for the family.

Activities for Children on Rainy Days While Travelling //

It’s cold and wet outside and you start to get the sinking feeling that cabin fever is setting in. Then you hear that whiney tone again like tinnitus in your ears… and you remember. Babies aren’t entertained or occupied for hours by a good book on the couch, snuggled up under the duvet. Damn it.

A Tribute to Breastfeeding Mummas

Tribute to Breastfeeding Mummas //

This post is a tribute to all the mummas who breastfeed or have breastfed. Even if only for a couple of times in your babies’ lives. I wanted to write about this so I will always remember the special bond I felt with Ollie, my first breastfed baby.

Life is good when your baby sleeps. Life is even better when you put them to bed and they go to sleep without a fuss and don’t wake up until the morning!
